Mental Health First Aid
Dianne Borella Consultancy has been delivering nationally accredited Mental Health First Aid Courses across the Northern Territory, Queensland, Adelaide, Broome and Hobart communities to various Indigenous and Non-Indigenous adults that may wish to attend as part of their work roles or any interested community members. All participants will learn the signs and symptoms of mental health issues, where and how to get help and what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective.

Any person wishing to attend must be over the age of 18 years of age.
Deadly Thinking Youth
- Learn the importance of yarning with family and friends
- Provide some plans and pathways to help deal with social and emotional wellbeing issues for young people, their families and the wider community
- Raise awareness and increase understanding of basic mental health worries and distress
- Start conversations around core issues for young people
- Reduce stigma and shame around mental health worries
- Understand how changes in your life might stress you out
- Problems like drugs, alchohol and bullying worries
- Connecting with your culture and country as a way to stay strong
- Age range of students is 12 years to 17 years
- Targeted to youth in the community
Deadly Thinking Adult
Remote Indigenous communities face change, economic disadvantage, social problems, extreme weather events and climate change. They also face the threat of the loss of culture and identity. These challenges may lead to low resilience, low self-esteem and compromised health.
- Learn the importance of yarning with family and friends
- Provide some plans and pathways to help deal with social and emotional wellbeing issues for individuals, families and the community
- Raise awareness and improve understanding of depression, anxiety and suicide
- Understand how to change in your life can contribute to stress
- Identify community members who may be interested and able to do other courses in mental health
