Reconciliation Action Plans
Reconciliation Action Plans
Dianne assists to start the process of Reconciliation Action Plan for organisations. As everyone from stakeholders and staff to community is responsible to ensure reconciliation this full day workshop brings together working groups to drive, extract and collect RAP contributions and ideas from all levels of the organisation. Using this information from the workshop Dianne provides a framework for organisations to build upon and send to Reconciliation Australia for approval.
A Reconciliation Action Plan should include timelines and targets where each action should be adopted through the whole organisation. The RAP will have the best chance of success if each action, timeline, responsibility, and deliverable is as specific as possible. It is about engaging the organisation to develop good relationships and mutual respect for sustainable opportunities. This is the main reason for developing a RAP program within the organisation.
An organisation must have
clear Governance structures in place to support Reconciliation. The Board of Directors need to set clear goals and objectives for the action plan knowing the key priorities that will be covered in the action plan. Along with these, other areas must include the key values are around relationships, respect and opportunities. Have an understanding of how to build capacity through the RAP process. Have measurable and realistic targets. The RAP must be used from the Top down. It is about implementing good policies and programs within the organisation.
